OBJECTIVES: The objectives of the organization are:
a. To
introduce newcomers
of
Henderson County to their community, to meet new people
and
establish friendships;
b. To support worthy causes
in the community;
c. To encourage participation
in club and community activities.
All people residing in Henderson County are eligible to join Senior Friendships.
Meetings are held on
the third
Thursday of each
month (except June, July and December) at 7:00 p.m. at the Opportunity
House. Guests are welcome to attend.
Dues are $12.50 annually
per
member,
due by February 1, for the calendar year beginning January 1. Anyone
joining after June 30 will be responsible to pay 1/2 of the annual
dues.
Those
joining in November or December pay full
dues
that will be credited as the following year's dues.

MEETINGS: There are no meetings in June or July. On Monday, June 9, 2008, the Seniorfriendships Walking Group visited the North Carolina Arboretum and Bonsai Garden. After a pleasant walk, the group enjoyed lunch and a visit to the education center. For some photos, click: ARBORETUM |

The regular monthly meeting was held on Thursday, May 15. Connie Pegg from the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program described their operation and offered to help place volunteers.
